Ballet Enrichment Classes
As a school Pop-Up Dance try to identify and nurture talent in students that we feel may have potential to undertake vocational dance training in the future. We appreciate that the students are still very young - but feel that we would like to give them every opportunity for the future, should they wish to explore this avenue.
We take children into the Junior level from the age of 7.
Classes run weekly - with an additional monthly Sunday workshop, we also schedule holiday workshops and intensives.
These classes are by invitation only, pupils are selected because Pop-Up Dance teachers feel that they demonstrate physical, technical and artistic ability that would benefit from extra classes like this, they also have appropriate behaviour and an attitude to their dance education and we feel that they would contribute positively to the class and be a good example for their peers.
The classes are non-syllabus ballet classes focussing on technique and artistry in a more comprehensive fashion than we do in syllabus classes.
Your child needs to be doing a syllabus ballet class a week already and it is strongly recommended that they are also doing another style of dance e.g. acro or contemporary (this doesn't need to be with Pop-Up Dance) to be eligible and remain eligible for this class.
If your child is interested in being invited to this class, then we encourage them to come and trial during either the weekly or Sunday class and to discuss this with a Pop-Up Dance teacher.
